The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing hardware and software development projects for new products.   • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans and integrated schedules for various hardware and software development projects. Responsible to create, execute, and update the project plan and schedules.
  • When assigned to a specific development project, provide project leadership to manage the full development lifecycle of hardware and software from product inception to product release.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering and Operations teams to understand requirements, approach, resources, and solution.
  • Identify and ensure task or functional dependencies are identified and met.
  • Communicate with all levels of engineering and operations management on technical solutions.
  • Conduct Risk Planning with Mitigation and Contingency plans and manage project risks.
  • Works independently and seeks creative solutions and alternatives to unusual and difficult problems.
  • Adhere and manage projects to internal Development Process structure.
  • Provide regular project status and deliver presentations to leadership and project stakeholders.

Experience and Skills:



BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience


8 years of experience managing hardware development projects


  • Has a ‘can do’ attitude - willing to dive into and take ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.
  • Can work under pressure in high visibility situations.
  • Flexible - able to quickly adapt to changing conditions and make decisions based on incomplete data.
  • While we emphasis the ability to work in a team, the candidate must also be effective as a single contributor as the situation warrants.
  • Willing to take direction and follow sound departmental processes.



  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years direct experience managing technology projects.
  • Experience in one of the following technology areas is preferred: Satellite Communications, Telecommunications.
  • Must have leadership skills to manage programs within a matrix organization.
  • Experience working with product development utilizing different development methodologies including Waterfall, Agile or SAFe.
  • Ability to understand, track, drill-down and question activities and issues in all functional areas.
  • Excellent organizational management skills associated with motivation, communication, and conflict management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and SharePoint; experience with JIRA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PMBOK. PMP certification preferred.
