Experience and Skills:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include but not limited to the following:
Works at the customer site and provide direct support to our customers in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex product related issues including but not limited to following areas:
Technical issues related to product configuration and usage.
Network connection and quality of services
RF and Satellite Communication
Linux OS and MySQL databases
Tracks all assigned tickets and insures all tickets are updated as required
Provide support as a Technical Account Manager
Be able to conduct basic and advanced product training for internal and external customers
Act as subject matter expert for creating and updating technical documentations
Set up the Lab network to replicate customer issues as a part of problem resolution
Support and lead installations, upgrades, and system integration efforts
Interface directly with engineering on customer escalations and product
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited four year college or university in Engineering or related field, or equivalent working experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Telecommunication, Networking or related industry, preferably in the Technical Support /System Engineering function
Ability to independently troubleshoot and debug broad, complex, and unique network issues
Experience working in a global technical support environment , dealing directly with customers, in support of advanced communications/IP based technology
Technical Skills - Individual should have experience in the areas of
Advance knowledge in TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLAN, QOS, and troubleshooting IP networks.
Moderate to advanced level knowledge in Linux or Unix
MYSQL or other similar database
RF or Satellite communications
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically, up to 25%
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Preferred but not Required:
VT iDirect Platform Experience
Knowledge and experience in RF Link Budget calculation
Knowledge and experience with a programming or scripting language (i.e. Unix /Linux shell, Python, Perl, or other)
CCNA, CCNP, or other advanced Cisco certification desired
